News & Announcement

It should come as no surprise that chronic absenteeism has a direct correlation to student achievement. The reason behind that is quite simple – students can’t learn if they aren’t at school.   At Thompson Elementary we want all of our students to maximize their learning and understand that students get sick.

We don’t want students coming to school sick.   Our Attendance goal is 98% school wide.  To achieve this goal, we need your help.  The following are a couple of things you can do to assist us:

1. Have a set bedtime and routines for your child.

2. Make medical and dental appointments after 3:30 pm or after 1:00 pm on minimum days.

3. Schedule vacations during school breaks.

4. Have a backup plan to take or pick up your child from school.
